this is life
Is it work? Is it love? Is it the moment we feel free, the lightest, the happiest? Is it youth, children? I wonder. I live everyday as if maybe this is it? This is life, right now, filled with passion, creativity, reflection, lust, challenge, moments of bliss and moments of fear, vulnerability. The beautiful possibilities, a million of them. Friends and family so close but at the same time the furthest away. ... this is life.
I love my life.. and I am thankful.

I woke up with the urge to run to the Eiffel tower. What better way to start a gloomy day before hitting a comfy chair at a café with a coffee and the paper?!
Ah, it was fresh and stunning!! From home I passed through the Louvre's Jardin de Tuileries, Place de Concorde over the bridge to pass the Musée Orsay, then along the Seine to da da da dAaaaaa! the Eiffel Tower. I then crossed to the other side of the river, Trocodero and along the Seine back to the Jardin de Tuileries... where I got caught in the rain. Again :)
Oh Happy Saturday to you.

Biennale, Venice 2011
Garance blogs about her time at the 2011 Venice Bienalle of Art. Last september after working with UN HABITAT in Wroclaw Poland I had a few days left in Europe and took a last minute flight to Bologna where I visit a friend. From Bologna I made the best decision of my trip to take the day, hop on a train to Venice and visit the Architecture Biennale. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. One of my favorite Italian experiences. I wandered the streets (getting lost running away from the crowds of tourists) finding myself walking down residential alleys surrounded by canals, aaah it was a dream.
Anyway what was incredible was the Biennale venu, an old ship yard reinvigorated for this brilliant annual event. The ancient architecture and stunning surrounding together with the juxtaposition of these contemporary exhibitions is what makes the experience so incredible.
What I want to say in the end is I saw Garance's post and.. I think I HAVE to go again this year.
Ill keep you updated. Im thinking Septemeber or October. Lucky its 4 months long.

Thanks to lovely goldsmith Bob who took me under his wing and taught me how to make a few pieces of my own. To start with a hunk of wax and end up with this was simply an experience of a lifetime for me.
I reminisce, and I smile.

-The Woes Of Flying: Jet lag has been the trauma of my life—it killed me for 25 years. I used to be obsessed with treating it, so I took a lot of pills and vitamins. But for the last two years I've taken no more sleeping pills, no more vitamins, and I have no more jet lag. Maybe it's because now that I travel with my wife, we just dance all night when we arrive somewhere. That way we forget we're tired.
