Post Theatre bliss.

Yesterday evening I went to the Théatre des Champs-Élysées. It was incredible!!! We saw Quatuor Ebène (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello) with guests, a pianist and a clarinet for a part.

The concert was classical and a part of the Festival Mozart. It brought such emotions, peace and happiness. I just loved it. Thankful for the new experience. Slowly starting get into all this theatre etiquette living in this stunning city and having these kind of opportunities at my finger tips! Fun!!

Good Sunday morning!

this is life

What is this life? What are we searching for?
Is it work? Is it love? Is it the moment we feel free, the lightest, the happiest? Is it youth, children? I wonder. I live everyday as if maybe this is it? This is life, right now, filled with passion, creativity, reflection, lust, challenge, moments of bliss and moments of fear, vulnerability. The beautiful possibilities, a million of them. Friends and family so close but at the same time the furthest away. ... this is life.
I love my life.. and I am thankful.

Via Savona

I like this, but even more so I love this street!! The Sartorialist took this photo on Via Savona, one of my favorites in Milano (It has a great Design Café/library and my favorite bookstore La Libraria 121+). I think a trip to Milano should be has to be on the cards for the near future!

Summer brings fresh fruit and vegetables. Get cooking!

I hate to break it to you, but I never want to leave this incredible city. Ever.

It's a gloomy day. Nevertheless it's a happy day...

Yum.

En route..

Saturday morning,

I woke up with the urge to run to the Eiffel tower. What better way to start a gloomy day before hitting a comfy chair at a café with a coffee and the paper?!

Ah, it was fresh and stunning!! From home I passed through the Louvre's Jardin de Tuileries, Place de Concorde over the bridge to pass the Musée Orsay, then along the Seine to da da da dAaaaaa! the Eiffel Tower. I then crossed to the other side of the river, Trocodero and along the Seine back to the Jardin de Tuileries... where I got caught in the rain. Again :)

Oh Happy Saturday to you.

I got caught running in the rain tonight. It was windy and moody and I loved it.

Get outside and take in the fresh air!

Friday night and reading about vodka.. instead of drinking it!

Broken things

Chilean artist Livia Marin's collection is just brilliant. I love it.

Biennale, Venice 2011

Garance blogs about her time at the 2011 Venice Bienalle of Art. Last september after working with UN HABITAT in Wroclaw Poland I had a few days left in Europe and took a last minute flight to Bologna where I visit a friend. From Bologna I made the best decision of my trip to take the day, hop on a train to Venice and visit the Architecture Biennale. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. One of my favorite Italian experiences. I wandered the streets (getting lost running away from the crowds of tourists) finding myself walking down residential alleys surrounded by canals, aaah it was a dream.

Anyway what was incredible was the Biennale venu, an old ship yard reinvigorated for this brilliant annual event. The ancient architecture and stunning surrounding together with the juxtaposition of these contemporary exhibitions is what makes the experience so incredible.

What I want to say in the end is I saw Garance's post and.. I think I HAVE to go again this year.

Ill keep you updated. Im thinking Septemeber or October. Lucky its 4 months long.

Once upon a time I thought I would follow a passion of mine (one of many!) and become a jewellery designer. I was lucky enough to work for the very popular Magpie Jewellery in Ottawa where I was inspired everyday and happy to help design and sell, sell, sell beautiful jewellery handmade by talented Canadian designers! It was fun.

Thanks to lovely goldsmith Bob who took me under his wing and taught me how to make a few pieces of my own. To start with a hunk of wax and end up with this was simply an experience of a lifetime for me.

I reminisce, and I smile.

Kooky but smart

I remember sitting at Costa Noosa for a coffee reading an article about French designer Philippe Starck (more) in a Vogue Living one day. I like him, I like his philosophy, he is kooky but smart in his design and focused on sustainability and innovation.

Id like to visit Paris' Royal Monceau to see what hes done there..

... and I like his attention to love in his life :)

-what is the best moment of the day?when you make love to the person that you love - Starck, 2005

-The Woes Of Flying: Jet lag has been the trauma of my life—it killed me for 25 years. I used to be obsessed with treating it, so I took a lot of pills and vitamins. But for the last two years I've taken no more sleeping pills, no more vitamins, and I have no more jet lag. Maybe it's because now that I travel with my wife, we just dance all night when we arrive somewhere. That way we forget we're tired.
