Reminisce... Coffee encounters

rem·i·nisce/ˌreməˈnis/
Verb: Indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events.

I meet the most interesting people at coffee shops. If you are anyone close to me reading this you may have just laughed out loud. I know it's classic me... "We met at a coffee shop". Its true. I have met some amazing people over coffee... I am thankful for the encounters grabbing an espresso macchiato has offered me. Coffee is life.

Today it was on this bench..

To my dear friends...

Blog Love

Two of my favorite bloggers Garance Dore and The Sartorialist happen to be lovers. Read the recent New York Mag's article on them...

Reminisce.... Costa

You know I really havent had the chance to truely miss Australia yet. I flew out almost three months ago now and am thankful to be based in Europe, Bonn, Germany to be exact. Okay it wouldnt have been my first choice of settlement but I was offered a great opportunity to pursue my career (all grown up now!) and so here I am.
What I do miss, I have just recently realized is Costa, the beautifully located cafe I visit on a daily basis on and off for the past 5 years. I miss Gav and Ang, the owners turned 'Noosa mom & dad' (if I can say so..), their witty jokes and continuous support. I could always count on Ang for a good chat about food, wine, and interior design, and Gav for big hugs and lots of laughs. I miss my study sessions there interupted by friends, one after another stopping by for a cup of the finest!
I got this photo from Laura this morning, a gem of friend I left behind. Thank you for all our deep and meaningfuls over that plank of wood.
xx

Reminisce... Cote Basque

I can't help but reminisce on this gloomy Sunday afternoon...

La Cote Basque, France, July 2009

Vivez la langue!

This is me in the very near future. .. I promise

Art culture

I went to Cologne on Saturday to visit the Museum-Ludwig, museum of contemporary art.

I didnt get through it all, there was too much to see in one visit. However I did manage to see half of the permanent collection and a few temporary exhibitions. These were a few of my favorites:

Picasso, Nu couché a l'oiseau, 1968

Yves Klein, Anthropometry, 1960 (the vibrance of this blue in person is incredible)

Dorothy Napangardi, Sand Hills, 2004 (I find some Australian Aboriginal art so hypnotic.. love it)

Bethan Huws, Cactus, 2008

Re: me

If you don't know me yet (who does??.. I mean I'm a totally random mumble jumble of thoughts and actions) you may be able to learn something here..
Five facts (very much current, they could change at any moment) about this girl:

1. I'm living in Bonn, Germany pursuing a professional experience for an NGO dedicated to sustainable development. It's pretty cool. EcoMobility is my daily, I'm working towards something good.

2. I dream of living in a foreign country, I guess you can say I thrive for the immigrant experience (some would see this in a negative light) I see it as an adventure, an opportunity to learn. I think I get this from my mother.

3. I spend my Sunday afternoons reading in a foreign language whether I understand it or not (what have you got to lose?!!).

4. I'm really enjoying Spanish red wine at the moment. My Spanish girlfriend Andrea has recently introduced me to it and... Yum. We drank a lovely bottle from the Rioja region yesterday evening. I didn't think I could so easily veer away from an Italian red.

5. I need this purse...

Have a lovely Sunday.

Ciao!

This was a lovely weekend I spent in Krakow, February 2009.
I got to catch up with my wonderful family (uncle Witek)
I visit Wawel castle

This visit to Poland was particularly special because I got to see my beautiful grandmother on my way back to Warsaw (she just turned 90!!) Moja kochana babcia Karolina.

Nude climbing

Loving these black and white Photos by Dean Fidelman... I like the juxtaposition of the softness of the nude female form and the rough, raw, rock... Im geeking out. sorry. But aren't they stunning?!!
